I like to project with the possibility of maintaining a space overlooking the old, to rebuild which I use a device oriented towards an amplification of the conceptual and abstract dimension. The image of an old painting crosses over time revealing itself, in the most fortunate cases, with this kind of potential.
They are stimuli, which arouse a new synthesis register full of minimalism. I originally started off from a few photographs of XV century paintings: all the characters on the painting and some of the vegetation have been wiped out by means of a computer. A small hill, in the centre, was then created by removing tiny elements of the painting and locating them elsewhere. The aggregation of a small mound of rocks replaces the original image of the landscape, giving way to the idea of a mountain.
